Meet John L.

With over 30 years of experience in San Francisco real estate, John has gained a well-earned reputation as a skillful negotiator with a deep understanding of the marketplace, neighborhoods, and homes. This expertise, coupled with his deep connections and the respect of his colleagues in the business, allows him to easily navigate every kind of market and successfully serve his clients, which include first-time home buyers, venture capitalists, and even the occasional rock star. Originally from the East Coast, John moved to California in 1980 to attend Claremont McKenna College. He quickly fell in love with Northern California and he has been living in San Francisco ever since. Real estate is a family affair for John, as members of his family have been selling or building real estate for six generations. In fact, he worked with his father for five years at Merrill Lynch Real Estate until 1993 when he migrated to a prestigious luxury real estate brokerage Hill and Co., where he spent the next 25 years as one of the firm’s top-producing agents.

 

In 2018, in a bid to optimize his ability to help his clients, John partnered with the powerful real estate technology firm Reside to launch his firm, Aethos Real Estate. By tapping into Reside’s exceptional innovative approach to the real estate industry, John is better able to focus directly on his clients and their needs, as well as foster relationships within the Bay Area community and across the country. This gives Aethos’ clients the advantage of an experienced, boutique brokerage that provides unrivaled technology-driven services and marketing sophistication.

 

John chose the name Aethos because throughout his career as a REALTOR he has been guided by the ethics of Respect, Integrity, Accountability, and Empathy. He is known for making the process of buying or selling a property as pleasant and stress-free as possible, something he does with humor, enthusiasm, and dedication to his client’s well-being.

 

John puts great importance on prioritizing a work/life balance, so he is able to carve out plenty of quality time with his lovely wife and three children. Additionally, he enjoys traveling, performing in local theater, teaching historical fencing, and volunteering at his children’s schools.
